WTF is wrong with these fake ass tough guys: Detroit 3-Year-Old Girl Called A Hoe & Then Shot8/17/2012 "He directly pointed the gun at the vehicle and shot it up", says Latina Edwards whose 3-year-old daughter was hit when a neighbor opened fire on them with a shotgun. Edwards says it all began when the man, in his 20s, began calling her daughter, Amyria Parham, and another young girl offensive names. "I told him don't talk to my daughter no more because he was calling her and her friend 'hos'. My daughter is 3 years old. She don't know what a ho is", said Edwards outside Children's Hospital in Detroit where her daughter is recovering. When tensions escalated, Edwards says she tried to get away by jumping into a friend's van in hopes of driving away, but by then she says the man had retrieved a shotgun from one of his friends and he opened fire on the van. "I'm her only protection", said Edwards. "I tried to get away but he shot up the vehicle that we was in and that's how she got shot". Detroit Police are still searching for the shooter."- Detroit News

"An honor student who worked her way out of Chicago's crime-ridden Roseland neighborhood to become the first in her immediate family to graduate from college, Moody's life had once been on a different course. But in May, less than a week after she received a degree in criminal justice from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, a jury convicted her of killing a 21-year-old mother of two after a senseless altercation over a young man. Moody claimed that she had been bullied by a group of women from the neighborhood and that the shooting was self-defense. The jury decided it was second-degree murder. Now the young woman born to a prostitute and crack addict who abandoned her at the hospital after birth, a young woman who believed that education would be her ticket "out of the ghetto," is serving a 30-year sentence in an Arkansas prison. "My world has been turned around," Moody said, tears trickling down her face as she sat for an interview at the McPherson Unit, a women's correctional facility about 100 miles northeast of Little Rock." - chicagotribune
A heavily armed man entered a movie theater in suburban Denver early Friday and opened fire, killing at least 14 people and injuring 50 others. The incident, which took place about 12:30 a.m. at the Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colo., occurred during midnight screenings of the new Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises." "This is a horrific event," Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said during a news conference. The gunman, who was wearing a gas mask, reportedly set off a smoke or tear gas bomb then walked up to the front of the screen in one of the theaters and opened fire. When the movie patrons realized the attack was real and not part of the movie, they began to flee. The film continued to play on the screen as bloodied customers took refuge outside. According to witnesses on the scene, some of the bullets also went through the walls of an adjacent theater, injuring patrons there. Soon after receiving a flood of 911 calls, more than 250 police officers, ambulance and emergency crews were called to the scene.
There's about 100 FBI agents on the scene assisting with investigation, according to the local special agent in charge. Once apprehended the gunman told authorities that there were explosives in his North Aurora residence. Investigators rushed to the apartment complex, which was quickly evacuated and is now under lockdown. A senior official who is monitoring the situation in Washington said that early guidance based on the early snapshot of this man's background indicated that this act does not appear to be linked to radical terrorism or anything related to Islamic terrorism. In a statement, President Obama said, "Michelle and I are shocked and saddened by the horrific and tragic shooting in Colorado. Federal and local law enforcement are still responding, and my administration will do everything that we can to support the people of Aurora in this extraordinarily difficult time. We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice, ensuring the safety of our people, and caring for those who have been wounded." Investigators confirmed that explosives were found. It is unclear if they were scheduled to detonate or if it was part of a stockpile. The Baton Rouge Police Department said Erick Scott, 21, was arrested Tuesday morning in the death of Justice Thompson, 17. Thompson was found lying in the 2000 block of Adams Street on Oct. 16, 2011 around 2:30 a.m. Police said he had been shot multiple times, including to the head, while sitting in a parked vehicle. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died. Scott has been charged with first-degree murder in Thompson's death. He was already in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a first-degree murder charge in the death of Kevin Johnson, 21, of Denham Springs. Investigators said Johnson was in the passenger seat of a car stopped at the intersection of North Acadian and South Choctaw Drive when the gunman walked up and opened fire on Feb. 14 around 5:30 p.m. Detectives said the victim was hit several times and driven to Baton Rouge General, where he died. A father beat to death with his hands a man who tried molesting his 4-year-old daughter after the little girl was heard screaming on the family's rural Texas ranch, authorities said Monday. Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon said the 23- year-old father, whose name has not been released, is unlikely to be arrested for Saturday's killing and that no evidence so far has led investigators to doubt his story. "There doesn't appear to be any reason other than what he told us," Harmon said. Harmon said the victim was a 47-year-old man from Gonazles with no apparent prior criminal history. His name continued to be withheld Monday because authorities still hadn't tracked down any of his family. The victim was an "acquaintance" of the father who had come to help care for some horses, Harmon said. He did not know how long the two men may have known each other. The girl was taken to a hospital to be examined and has since been released, Harmon said. The father called police late Saturday afternoon and told them he attacked a man caught trying to sexually assault his daughter, Harmon said. The alleged attack happened near a barn where some horses were being kept.
